Hello. I am glad to announce we have the HEAT Fall Training schedule finalized. I have attached the schedule. As always we try to offer high quality training at as reasonable price as possible.
We have a great line-up of two day classes. The Allison trainer does an excellent job of giving you worthwhile everyday information. Everyone that I have talked with about the class came away with a lot of great information. The Ford trainer will provide great information on both Ford hybrids. The retired AC Delco Electrical trainer does an excellent job of showing you how to troubleshoot problems. He helps us with our APWA Snow Rodeo and the automotive electrical section for SkillsUSA. The M1 and M2 trainer will be returning from putting on the training for International Fire Chiefs conference.
We also have a great line-up for our ½ day classes Thursday morning. At our Spring Training Conference many requests where made for a fire truck operator’s class so you would know what all the valves and gauges were for. Well we have an OPFD fireman (who also works for Conrad Fire Equipment) going to show you how to operate a fire truck. MHC will show you everything you want to know about the 2010 exhaust systems. The Basic Diagnostic class will give you a good idea of what software you can get for to use for diagnosing problems.
This is the start of the fifth year of the HEAT association and for the last four years we have tried to bring you quality training at a reasonable price of $150. Unfortunately it is costing us more to provide these quality trainers. The board, after much discussion, has decided we need to raise the registration cost to $175 for the full training and $75 for one day. The cost will still include lunch and something we started last spring the cost will also include a HEAT tee shirt. HEAT registration will be open Monday August 22nd on the website- HEATEVT.com. Hotel information will be there also.
If you are planning to take an EVT test there is a separate registration at www.evtcc.org that needs to be made 21 days in advance of the training.
You don’t have to be a HEAT member to attend. We try to offer training not only for fire equipment but training such as the Allison and Electrical that could be used by other department. Please pass this e-mail on to anyone you think could benefit from HEAT training.
If you have any questions Please contact me or any of the board members. Board member contact information is on the website.
Thanks and hope to see you in October.
